Hodges came back to Jets 44 days after being released

During the 2008 season, Reggie Hodges replaced Ben Graham as the Jets' punter. On April 27 he was released by the Jets. On Wednesday, the Jets signed back Hodges, replacing Eric Wilbur. Sign-release-resign, what the Jets are playing?

We should say Jets' choosing Hodges last season was a right decision. He averaged a career-high 42.8 yards per punt in 12 games and pinned 14 kicks inside the opponents' 20-yard line.

Eric Wilbur was just signed by the Jets on April 15. He has not taken part in any NFL game, but he participated in Texans and Jaguars training camp in 2007.

Replacing Hodges for Wilbur is not a bad move. I just hope that the Jets can make a final decision on using the best player and stop the sign-release playing. The season is coming, they need full preparation.
