For using a gay slur on his Twitter account and repeating it to reporters the next day, the Kansas City Chiefs running back Larry Johnson has already received a two-week suspension, but that seems far from the ending of troubles.
Johnson’s agent, Peter Schaffer, said there had been no progress in discussions with the team over the future of the suspended running back. Schaffer said after the announcement of suspension on Wednesday that he had spoken with the players’ union and would appeal.
The two-time Pro Bowler needs only 75 yards to break Kansas City’s career rushing record but he is in danger of losing his job for violating some contract provisions. Being suspended for one week will cost him more than $600,000, but if his agent’s talk with the team does not go well, he will be losing more- he is at the moment still an official player wearing Chiefs jersey, however, it is very unsure whether he will continue to be in near futur.
